Margaret Edge Turk, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 1, 2023, at home in Chestnut Mountain, Ga. She was born Margaret Catherine Edge on October 17, 1930, in Braselton, GA, to Cammie Jane and J.C. Edge. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde Turk, as well as her parents.
Margaret was a devoted educator, dedicating 34 years of her life to shaping young minds. She started a higher education degree at Berry College before graduating from The University of Georgia, an education which she used to inspire and guide her students later in life.
She was a member of New Liberty United Methodist Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith and church family. She found great joy in helping others and was a strong, devoted friend to many.
Margaret will be deeply missed by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Kenny Roger Turk, and her devoted daughter, Tammy Turk Brannen (Lang), her beloved grandchildren: Cammie Jane Turk, South Allen Turk (Kayleigh), Lillie Catherine Brannen (Scott), as well as her great-grandsons, Leo Kaan Hendekli and Langston James Motes. Margaret's beloved brother and sister in-law Ray and Carolyn Edge mourn her passing, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret’s family is eternally grateful to Cheryl Burnside, her caregiver for six years, as well as Brad Long and Jade Church.
A service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held at New Liberty United Methodist Church in Braselton on Friday, September 8th, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. They ask in leu of flowers that donations be made to New Liberty United Methodist Church at 17 Thompson Mill Road, Braselton, Ga. 30517.
