Kenneth R. "Buddy" Powers

Kenneth R."Buddy" Powers, 80, of New York, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, in Gainesville, GA., where he lived since 2011.

Kenneth was born to his beloved mother, the late Elizabeth "Betty" Happaney Powers, and the late Thomas Edward Powers Sr., on May 22, 1943.  After leaving New York in 2003, he moved to Wilmington, NC before moving to GA in 2011.

Mr. Powers was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He also retired from the Yonkers Police Department in 1991 at the rank of Sergeant.

Mr. Powers is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Powers Costa and his brother Thomas Edward Powers and his wife, Eilleen Powers nee Duggan.

Mr. Powers is survived by his brother Donald, his children Eileen (Timothy) Powers-Dinan and Kenneth (Mary Ellen) Powers, as well as his grandchildren, Taylor Dinan, Kelly Dinan, Casey Dinan, Meaghan Powers and Ryan Powers.

There will be a memorial celebration of life Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Military Honors to follow, at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Hwy., Gainesville, GA  30501

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a tribute donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association
