John Milton Nix

Mr. John Milton Nix, 67, of Jefferson, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy England and Rev. Kendrick Rucker will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 23, 1956 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late John L. and Helen Knight Nix. He was an employee of JBS and a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Nix proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and in the Army Reserves.

Mr. Nix is survived by his wife, Debbie Dodd Nix of Jefferson; son, Jason Nix of Jefferson; sister, Sarah Adams of Gainesville; sisters and brothers in law, Becky and Kim Stinson of Flowery Branch, Lynn and Don Fisher of Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Chris and Laurie Nix of Lula; aunt, Mildred Knight of White County; grandchildren, Josie Nix, Brookley Grissom, Aubrey Grissom; niece, Julie Bagwell of Jefferson; nephew, Josh Bagwell of Gainesville; other special family member, Cassie Nix of Lula; brother in law, Kendall Dodd and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
