Richard Raynard "Spike" Wright

Richard Raynard "Spike" Wright was born on April 24th, 1964, to Richard Wright and Dianne Newton in Commerce, Georgia.
Spike was a graduate of Gainesville High School, class of 1982. After graduating high school, he joined The United States Armed Forces serving as a member of The U.S. Navy from 1982-1985. During his time serving in The Navy, Spike worked as an aviation boatswain's mate aboard the ship USS Carl Vinson (CV-70); traveling all over the world.
Spike was a lover of all things state of Georgia sports; The Falcons, The Braves, UGA, and most importantly his Gainesville Red Elephants. He loved jazz music, fishing, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
Preceding him in death is his father, Richard Wright.
Spike is survived by his mother, Dianne N. Graham Moore; siblings, Chris Wright(Yonah Wright), Tony Harrison(Sharon Harrison), Demingo Williams(Deniece Williams), and Kimberly Sheilds; Children, Jessica Sloan, Jamal Wright, Andrew Wright(Nicole Wright), Kayla Hall, Danika Bennett(Sam Bennett), Saundra Gnann(Bo Gnann), and Zapporah Bowman; Grandchildren, J.C. Hall, Taraji Wright, Jakaiya Hall, Shilah Hall, Malachi Dillard, Ryleigh Wright, and Taleah Dorsey; and a host of many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
He will be in our hearts forever.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30th between the hours of 12-8pm at Wimberly Funeral Home. Mr. Wright's Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 31st at the hour of 1pm at Antioch Baptist Church. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
