Marie Ledford Parris

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Marie Ledford Parris, age 95, of Maysville, Georgia who entered rest Sunday August 27, 2023. Mrs. Parris was born in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter to the late Mr. & Mrs. Kitty Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Alvin Sanford Parris, two daughters, Cheryl Butler and Cynthia Parris, son, Keith Parris, two brothers, Charles Powell and George Powell and one sister, Shirley Dodd.

Mrs. Powell retired as a supervisor with Morrisons Cafeteria, worked as a Bus Aid with Jackson County School System, was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed her flowers.

Survivors include her daughter, Tina Boswell of Maysville, GA. Son, Allen Parris of Maysville, GA. Three grandchildren, Shane Parris (Kelly) of Maysville, GA, Kelly Garrison (Colter Holdash) of Gainesville, GA and Mickey Boswell of Buford, GA. Nine great grandchildren, Samantha White-Parris (Matt Harris), Cloe Teets, Colton Parris, Brycen Garrison, Brea Garrison, Jaxen Garrison, Madelaine Boswell, Bailey Jay Boswell and Lily Mae Boswell. Two sisters, Martha Bilyk of Bedford KY and Betty Welcher of Louisville, KY. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 5:00 P.M. Wednesday August 30, 2023 from Cave Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Rising officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3.P.M. until time of service at 5 P.M. at Cave Springs Baptist Church.
