Kaylear Grady Mauldin, age 77, of Clermont, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, August 28, 2023, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. The Reverend Lyman Caldwell and Reverend Dalton Delozier will officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday, August 28, 2023 prior to the service.
Kaylear was born July 14, 1946 in Buford, Georgia. He was the son of the late Elmer and Carolyn Mauldin. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Carroll Mauldin; sisters, Sandra Hairr and Peggy Veal; and a grandson, Grant Mauldin.
Kaylear proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968. He retired after 32 years from General Motors in Doraville, Georgia. He was known affectionately as Dad and Grandad to his children and grandchildren, and Bud to his parents, his friends and GM colleagues.
He enjoyed playing golf with his friends, Charlie, Kenny, Gary and Lamar. He also loved to travel. His favorite times were spent with his family.
Kaylear was of the Baptist Faith and had a great desire to tell others about his Savior, Jesus Christ. He served the church in many ways as a teacher and a Deacon. Kaylear’s legacy will live on through the memories he created with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy (Outz) Mauldin, his children, Kelly and Ric Zittrouer, Katy and Chris Foster, Johnny and Hope Mauldin; grandchildren, Noah Zittrouer, Samuel Zittrouer, Alex Foster, Annabelle Foster, Ansley Foster, Landon Gusek and Hudson Mauldin; and sister, Elaine Evans.
