Mrs. Dorothy Mae Duckett Cheek, age 89 of Aiken, South Carolina and formerly of Toccoa passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at The Pines Senior Living in Maysville, Georgia.
A daughter of the late James Henry Duckett and Mary Etta Smith Duckett, she was born October 6, 1933 in Clayton, Georgia having lived a greater part of her life in Toccoa before moving to Aiken, South Carolina. She was retired from Marconi. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilburn Thacker and by her second husband, Jim Blakely, sisters, Dovie Gragg and Ruth Watts and by a brother, Ralph Duckett.
Survivors include her husband of the home, Carl Cheek; daughters and son-in-law, Annette and Tommy Moon of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Martha Simmons of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Yvonne Thacker of Toccoa; grandchildren, Paul Moon, Brett Moon, Dustin Thacker, Crystal Rich and Clint Simmons; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; step-daughter, Linda Jamison of Lula, Georgia; step-son, Howard Cheek of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, 1:30 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Masters officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Paul Moon, Brett Moon, Luke Moon, Dustin Thacker, Tanner Ruhlen and James Norris.

Interment will be in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery, laid to rest by her first husband, Wilburn Thacker.
