Wilson Randolph Norman, born August 5, 1974, passed away on Saturday August 12, 2023 after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was 49 years old.
A graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, TN and also a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, he resided in Hoschton, Georgia. He is survived by his two children Ansley and Walt, and their mother Sarah. Also, his mother Randy Preston, his sisters Abby Jones and Elizabeth Piana, his step-mother Phyllis Norman, step-sister Kellye Renker, step-brother, Scott Arthur, in addition to many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Sam Norman.
He was a devoted and loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. But being the loving Dad to his two children, Ansley and Walt, was one of the greatest joys of his life. He always looked forward to school activities with his kids, be it a high school dance for Ansley or watching Walt play high school football, he never missed an activity where his kids were involved. His family enjoyed spending time together at their annual family beach trip in Santa Rosa, FL each summer and also loved snow skiing in the winter. He enjoyed time outdoors, whether it was golf with friends, riding his side-by-side, or working in his yard, he relished many outdoor activities. An avid sports fan, Wilson could always be counted on to share the latest sports news and updates in almost any sport. Although a UT graduate, he will always be remembered as a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan, an influence from his childhood as his mother and father were UGA graduates and his father was a fierce football fan. He traveled far and wide to watch the Dawgs play and his love of the Silver Britches was a vibrant part of his humorous personality. He spent most fall weekends in Athens cheering on his favorite team, and he loved that he had the chance to see UGA win two National Championships. Wilson was also devoted to his job, where after starting his career in home building construction, he spent the last decade managing projects and accounts for Full Circle Restoration in Atlanta, GA. He was taken from his friends and family too soon, but leaves a legacy of devotion and love in his children, family and friends.
A funeral and celebration of Wilson’s life will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday August 19 at Cornerstone Church. 6933 Winder Hwy in Jefferson GA. Friends and family are invited to attend the reception immediately following in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or the UGA Athletic Association General Fund.
