Rosemary Pirkle Cantrell

Rosemary Pirkle Cantrell, age 80, of Gainesville entered rest Wednesday August 16, 2023 at the Hill Haven Nursing Home in Commerce.

Rosemary was born on November 17, 1942 in Cumming, Georgia to the late Wiley & Dora Wilson Pirkle. She retired from the City of Gainesville Government where she worked in customer service. She loved going and seeing her friends at the Cleveland Senior Center and participating in the different activities there. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Clermont and was preceded in death by her son, David Cantrell; brothers, Jack, Thomas, Edward, Gene, Albert & Jerry Pirkle.

Left to cherish sweet memories, grandchildren, Katrina (Brian) Hill & Russell (Tiffany) Cantrell; great grandchildren, Mia Whitmire, Parker Mattocks, Isaac Cantrell, Isaiah Cantrell & Isabel Cantrell; sisters, Marie Jones, Grace Shadburn & Wyolene Parker; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services honoring Rosemary's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday August 18, 2023 at the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Mills officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her son in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday August 17, 2023 and from 12:00 p.m. until the service time on Friday August 18, 2023 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to a church of your choice or to a hospice organization of your choice in her memory.
