Nathaniel McQueen

Mr. Nathaniel McQueen, age 87, of Flowery Branch passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Rev. Charles Abernathy and Rev. Ronald Seabolt will officiate.  The family will receive friends 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. McQueen was born October 7, 1935 to the late Julius Albert & Gladys Humphries McQueen.  A member of East View Baptist Church, he was ordained a Deacon in September 1975 and retired from Macklanburg-Duncan in 1996 after 31 years of service.  Mr. McQueen worked as a Funeral Assistant at several local funeral homes in Hall County for over 50 years, spending the last 13 years at Memorial Park South.

Mr. McQueen is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lillian Clark McQueen; children, Dianne Grizzle, Lynn & Tim McNeal, Rick & Brenda McQueen and Mike & Joy McQueen; grandchildren, Kim & Brett Caldwell, Kelley & Evan Gaddis, Eric & Carla McQueen, Felicia & Jason Cain, Holden & Rachel McNeal, Haley & Will Sessions, Victoria & Justin Marsh, Kelsey McQueen and Hannah McQueen; great-grandchildren, Griffin Caldwell, Landon Caldwell, Henley Caldwell, Kindal Whitlock, Kinleigh Whitlock, Dallas Gaddis, Hunter Cain, Andrew Cain, Nikki Cain, Eli McQueen, Carter Marsh, David Sessions, Leah Sessions, Emma McNeal and Evelynn McNeal; great great-grandchild, Jansen Cain; siblings, Haskell McQueen and Amanda & Earl Holman; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother & sister-in-law, Randall & Vera McQueen; sister-in-law, Marie McQueen; infant granddaughter, Sandra Dianne Grizzle; and granddaughter, Aislin Morgan.
