Joel Wesley Hall, 62, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on August 13, 2023. Born on March 17,
1961, in Winder, GA. Joel was a sincere and loving individual with a larger than life personality.
He was a gentle giant, always generous with his time and treasure. Joel had a great sense of
humor and was a big kid at heart. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and
grandfather.
Joel had a passion for cooking and serving others with his skills and abilities around the grill. He
cared deeply for his work and career, especially for those who worked around him. Joel worked
most recently as a Terminal Manager for Chevron, completing a successful 30 plus year career
in the oil industry.
Joel leaves behind a legacy of cherished relationships. He is survived by his wife Sharen Hall,
his mother, Bruce Hall, his twin brother Jeff Hall (Sandy Hall), his sister Medea Hall, his brother
Justin Hall (Elizabeth Hall), his sons Wes Hall (Lauren Hall) and Scotty Hall (Katherine Hall),
and his grandchildren Maggie Hall, Jake Hall, Tucker Hall, Elizabeth Hall, and Tommy Hall.
Joel was preceded in death by his father, Bobby T. Hall.
Joel attended Duluth High School and later pursued higher education at South Georgia College
where he played baseball.
Joel found solace and community at Northlake Baptist Church, where he worshiped.
In his free time, Joel enjoyed camping, fishing, coaching youth baseball, watching UGA football
and Braves baseball games. He also loved riding and exploring the mountain roads of North
Georgia.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Joel at Lakewood Baptist Church on Saturday,
August 19, 2023. Visitation will take place from 1-3 p.m., followed immediately by a celebration
of life service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer
Society in memory of Joel Hall, or to The North Georgia Community Foundation c/o Children at
Play Fund in memory of Joel Hall.
