Mr. William Thomas Drake, age 99 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Oaks of Limestone following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Drake was born July 21, 1924 in Blairsville, Georgia to the late Herman Drake and Maude Eller Drake. He was retired from Southeastern Radio Parts and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. William was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Frances Anglin Drake, his second wife, Rowena Martin Smith Drake, his sister, Eva Drake and his son, Rodney Thomas Drake.
Mr. Drake is survived by his daughter, Linda Drake Unnold of Gainesville, his son, Gregory Herman Drake of Gainesville, his step-son and his wife, Mark & Theresa Smith of Gainesville, his siblings, Bobby (Joann) Drake of Flowery Branch and Dorothy Dye Denton of Hiawassee, his grandchildren, Tina (Dianne) Drake, Sherry (James) Parker, Michelle (Chuck) Hayes, Scott (Lyn) Unnold, Natalie Unnold, Hailey (Greg) Smith and Angel Drake. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
