Charles Edward Gilstrap

Charles Edward Gilstrap, age 78, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Mr. Gilstrap was born on June 6, 1945, in Hall County, to the late Ollie and Bertha Gilstrap.  He was a self-employed truck driver.  In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his siblings, Lattie Ruth Gilstrap, Hershel Gilstrap, Lunell Gilstrap, Homer N. Gilstrap, Louise Gilstrap, Hazel Gilstrap, Georgia Gilstrap, and Eugene Gilstrap.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gilstrap (Norrell), Cleveland; daughters, Lisa Phillips (Todd), Flowery Branch, Sallie Smith (Stan), Dahlonega, and Cheri Goodman (Josh), Dahlonega; grandchildren, Kelsie Hinton (Bradley), Alexis Vaughn (Jody), Kayla Robbins (Blaine), Savannah Phillips, Wyatt McClung (Miranda), Levi McClung, and Evan McClung; great-grandchildren, Jackson Hinton, Jameson Hinton, Stephen Robbins, Sophie Robbins, and Zoey Vaughn; special friends, Melvin and Joy Reeves, Dahlonega; sister-in-law, Sue Gilstrap.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2023, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Jerry Whitlock and Evangelist Melvin Reeves will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
