James “Jim” Darcy, age 70, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, James P. Darcy and mother, Mildred Elder Darcy. Mr. Darcy is survived by his wife, Susan Darcy of Suwanee; daughter, Jillian (Steven) Dooley of Buford, GA; son, Ethan J. (Victoria) Darcy of Suwanee; three grandchildren, Reese Dooley, Ryder Dooley, Harrison Darcy; brother, Michael Darcy of Briarcliff Manor, NY; sisters, Patricia (Vinny) Fontana of Summerfield, FL, Eileen (John) Tegegar of Mahopac, NY, Maureen (Chris) Rapoli of Newburgh, NY; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Darcy was born on June 30, 1953 in Yonkers, NY and graduated in 1972 from Hastings High School. He was retired from Varian Analytical as North American Customer Support Manager for over thirty years. Mr. Darcy was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Duluth, GA. He enjoyed reading, fishing, walking in nature. He also had a true passion for building historical models. Mr. Darcy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church with Father Jack Durkin officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2. The family would like to extend loving thanks for the care provided by Capstone Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or the Humane Society in memory of James Darcy.
