Mike's childhood in Clearfield, PA, laid the foundation for a life filled with remarkable achievements and meaningful contributions. He started his educational journey at Penn State University and later graduated from Valdosta State University. Beginning as a radiologic technologist at Shallowford Hospital in Atlanta, he later ventured into the textile business, dedicating himself to helping his family. Eventually, he established his own successful companies, Spruce Creek Enterprises and Blue Bay Clothing Company, which focused on textile and denim manufacturing.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mike was an active member of his community and church. He found joy in teaching Sunday School and consistently showed his unwavering faith. Mike's compassionate and caring nature positively impacted the lives of those around him. His dedication to philanthropy was evident through ongoing donations to St. Jude's Research Hospital, reflecting his desire to support the well-being of others.
Mike was a man of many passions and interests. He found solace in sailing, cheering for his favorite sports teams, fishing, golfing, playing basketball, horseback riding, and engaging in friendly poker games with a close-knit group of friends spanning over three decades. He also generously shared his knowledge and enthusiasm as a soccer and basketball coach for many years. In quieter moments, he cherished reading, cooking, playing the guitar, and listening to his favorite music.
Above all, Mike's greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Carol Robbins, and will be fondly remembered by his three children: Amy Carlisle, Lisa Robbins, and Michael Robbins (Lauren). His presence will forever be missed by his two cherished grandchildren, Caroline Carlisle and Forrest Robbins. Mike is also survived by his twin sister, Sharon Osmani, and his brother, Harry Robbins (Brenda), along with several nieces and nephews.
