Shirley Ann McAllister

Shirley Ann McAllister, age 76, of Cornelia, Georgia went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 following a brief illness.

Mrs. McAllister was born on September 18, 1946 in Austin, Texas to the late Lucian and Dora Johnson Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Van Norman; brothers, Jake Wallace, and Lucian Wallace. Mrs. McAllister was the last of her immediate family.

Shirley was a retired real estate agent having served over 25 years. Along with her husband, Bill, she was co-owner of McAllister and Associates Real Estate and Appraisal Services in Ingleside, Texas. Following retirement, they moved back to Bill's home state of Georgia where they enjoyed the last 12 years. Shirley was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Auxiliary, where she served for several years.

Shirley will be remembered for her selfless and giving nature, always willing to help others without expecting anything in return at all.

Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Bill McAllister, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jose Medina, of Cleveland; daughter, Rebecca Jeffcoat, of Austin, TX; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Susan McAllister, of Tahatchaby, CA; Billy, Jr. and Sabrina McAllister, of Alvin, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and Herman Garcia, of Austin, TX; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the VFW Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, 174 Cornelia Shopping Center, Cornelia, Georgia 30531.
