Gwynelle Smith

Mrs. Gwynelle Smith, age 89 of Nicholson passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Nicholson to the late, Jewett and Montine Brock Barnett. Mrs. Smith was retired from General Times and was a member of River of Life Worship Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Greene; second husband, Randall Smith; children, Deborah, Dale, and Jerry Greene; and sisters, Eutelle Morgan and Lautrelle Richey.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her brother, Buck Barnett (Beverly) of Commerce; sister, Ethelle Howington of Jefferson; and three grandchildren, Chris Greene and Jessica Coley, Isaac Greene, and Mandy Greene; great grandchildren Billy and George Greene.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 22 at 2 PM from the River of Life Worship Center in the old sanctuary with Pastor Jonathan English and Pastor Junior Sosebee officiating with the interment following at Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1-2 PM.
