John E. Kortes

Beloved husband and father John E. Kortes entered the heavenly gates on July 15^th, 2023. John was born on August 13th, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the 3^rd of 4 children. John is preceded in death by his parents Mille and Bert, and 2 siblings Judy and Jerry, and his beloved son, Christopher Todd. John is survived by his loving beautiful wife of 59 years, Deadra (Dee), his daughter Kimberly, his son Matthew, (Donna) and brother Jeff (Nancy), his five grandchildren Isabella, Suzannah, Sofia, Courtney and John, and great granddaughter Artoria, as well as his steadfast companions, Daisy and Simon. John was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity while attending the University of Georgia. He received his degree at Georgia State University. He was a CPA by trade and was a volunteer with countless organizations. John was an amazing husband and father. His personality would light up the room. John always believed in the underdog, and helping those who were less fortunate than himself. He was a lover of animals and had many cats and dogs throughout his life. He was an avid University of Georgia football fan. He loved fishing, golf and cooking. John was a role model that was adored by his family and countless friends. John loved life, and his family and he will be missed beyond words. Our family will work to carry on his legacy of loving kindness. John knew that he was in his final days, and was at peace. Should anyone choose to honor his memory, you could do so in the form of a donation in his name to Annandale Village in Suwanee, or a charity of your choosing. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
