Holly Spear Mauney

It is with deep sadness that her family announces the death of Holly Spear Mauney on July 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

Holly was born in Gainesville, GA. on January 23, 1969, to the late Jack P. Spear and Anne Chandler Spear Lea of Gainesville.  She was predeceased by an infant sister Patricia Anne Spear.

Holly was an incredibly loving mother to Tanner Mauney Fincher (Luke) of Savannah, Whit Mauney and Chandler Mauney of Cleveland, GA., her Life-partner Allen Mauney of Cleveland, GA., Her mother Anne Spear Lea (Richard) and brother Scott Spear of Gainesville, Ga.

She was a 1987 graduate of Gainesville High School, University of North Georgia in 1992 and went on to obtain her Masters and Specialist Degree in Education.

She began her career at South Hall Middle, North Hall Middle and Chestatee Middle Schools.  She served as Assistant Principal at Chestatee Middle and White County Middle Schools, Director of Curriculum for White County School System, Director of School Improvement with Pioneer RESA.

Holly was a remarkable woman, full of grace, dignity, poise & elegance, with a beauty that was within and for all to see.

The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, Monday July 17, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery.
