Dianne T. Parker

Mrs. Dianne T. Parker, age 85 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, with family by her side.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., July 22, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home. Joel Martinez, Pastor of Loganville Christian Church, will officiate.

Dianne was born October 22, 1937, to the late David Bruce Tyson & Olene Phelps in Atlanta. She attended O’Keefe High School (now part of the Georgia Tech campus), graduating in 1955.

Dianne married Michael H. Langley and started a family, having four children. She worked as a medical practice Office Manager for the prestigious Peachtree Orthopedic Clinic. She was also a popular youth softball coach at Briarcliff Community Sports. Dianne and family attended Peachtree Baptist Church in Decatur.

Dianne married William “Bill” Parker in 1983 and lived on Lake Lanier in Buford. In 1990, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University, at age 52. She earned her master’s degree in 1997. Dianne then fulfilled a lifelong dream by teaching at the college level, at Gainesville College and Lanier Technical College.

Dianne and Bill would eventually settle down in retirement in their new home in Flowery Branch.

Dianne Parker is survived by her husband, William A. Parker; son, Michael “Mickey” Langley; daughter, Jennie Bassett; daughter, Kelley Stover. She is preceded in death by her fourth child, son, Martin Langley. She is also survived by stepdaughter Kathy Hubbard, stepson Mark Parker, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
