Mr. Albert Hill Risner, age 80 of Buford, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton.
Funeral services are on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Fr. Pete Coppola will officiate. Mr. Risner was born July 12, 1942, to the late Albert Hill, Sr. & Martha Mills Risner in Quantico, Virginia. His father, Lt. Col. Risner was a Marine, fighting in Korea, as a Marine brat Al grew up in Fredericksburg, VA, Camp Pendelton, CA, and Bellmawr, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Harrigan, who he lovingly cared for during her illnesses, his son, Andrew (Molly), daughter, Megan, son-in-law Brian Ouellette and grandchildren, Emma, Dylan, Grace and Logan., he also leaves behind his sister, Judy Clift, of Fredericksburg, VA and his sister-in-law, Susan Risner of Mocksville, N.C. Al was a graduate of the College of William & Mary 1964, and the University of Tennessee College of Law – Juris Doctorate 1971.
Al was a Lawyer, Teacher and Real Estate Broker in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Georgia. He was a partner in the Law Firm of Platt and Risner, taught at the Career and Technology Center in Calvert County, Maryland and was a Real Estate Broker in both Maryland and Georgia.
Al led a very eclectic life. He had interest in fishing, gardening, politics, the 20+ cats he owned, and one dog, Frisco, and of course his grandchildren.
