Ellen E. Thompson

Ellen E. Thompson, 85 of Gainesville died Monday, July 3, 2023.

Born in Dawsonville, Georgia, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Ford and Ivy Fouts Rider. She had lived in Dawson and Forsyth Counties for most of her life.  She retired from Citizens Bank, now known as Bank of America, with 41 years of service.  Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church in Forsyth County.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Knight, Gainesville, mother-in-law, Betty Knight, Cumming. A number of other family members also survive.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Alton Evans and 2nd husband, Philip Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Dr. Bill Coates will officiate.  Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, Ga.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
