John Carson Chumbley

John Carson Chumbley, 93, died peacefully at the home of his daughter, July 1, 2023. 

He was born January 15, 1930 to the late John Henry and Martha Chumley. Carson was a Godly man, devoted and dedicated to his Church, family, and friends. He retired in '92, after 32 years with Crain-Daley Volkswagen in Atlanta,GA.

Carson was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Mann Chumbley; son, Johnny Howard Chumbley; parents, John Henry and Martha Chumley, and seven siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Rita Chumbley and Cathi Powers of Stockbridge,Ga.; sister Edna (Eddie) Goswick of Dawsonville,Ga.; 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tom Stradley will officiate.  Interment will follow in Amicalola Baptist Church Cemetery

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
