James Jerry Holman

James Jerry Holman, 89, of Tellico Plains, TN, and formerly of Buford. GA, passed away on June 30, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Holcomb Holman, by his parents Roy and Odell Henry Holman, and by brothers Roy Lee (Faye), Douglas (Pat), and Barry Holman.  He is survived by sons Randy and Darlene Holman of Hoschton, GA, Jeff Holman of Tellico Plains, TN, and Steve and Dawn Holman of Buford, GA; grandchildren Melissa Kemp (Charlie) of Jefferson, GA, Evan Holman (Mindy) of Tellico Plains, TN, Wesley Holman (Bianca) of Braselton, GA, Whitney Holman of Winder, GA, and Tyler Holman of Hoschton, GA; great-grandchildren Ryleigh Holman, Spencer Holman, Charlie Ann Kemp, Jack Kemp, and Savannah Holman.

Jerry worked in saddle manufacturing for Bona Allen in Buford for many years, before retiring from General Motors after 27 years at the Doraville assembly plant.  He loved his children, grandchildren and great-children and was known for his sense of humor.  He was a member of Duncan’s Creek Congregational Church.  A graveside service officiated by Rev. Earl Pirkle will be held at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA on July 5, 023 at 12:00 PM.  Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
