Deidre Joyce (Joy) Norton

Deidre Joyce (Joy) Norton of Flowery Branch, Georgia, journeyed peacefully into the everlasting embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 21, 2023.

Joy was born on March 6, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, to John and Jan Normand. From her earliest days, she exhibited a profound love for her family and a deep commitment to serving others. This sense of compassion extended beyond her family, reaching out to those in need, and expressing itself through her tireless support for organizations dedicated to the care and protection of animals.

Throughout her life, Joy's faith in Jesus Christ was unwavering. She eagerly shared her beliefs, often speaking about the joy that awaits Believers upon their Heavenly Father's call.

Joy now rejoins her parents, John and Jan Normand, her sister Jan Ousley, her brother Jerry Normand, and step-daughter Tonya Norton in the arms of the Lord.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Jim Norton; her sons, Randy (Linda) Carroll and John (Kathy) Carroll; stepson, Russ Norton; stepdaughter, Ashley Livingston; and her beloved grandchildren, Heath Scharnhorst, Morgan Carroll, James Carroll, and Will Carroll, as well as Jim’s grandchildren. Joy is also survived by her brothers, Mike (Linnea) Normand and Dennis (Mary) Normand; sister, Judy (Bob) Wallace; sisters-in-law, Brenda Worley (Tom) and Glenda Normand, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private graveside service to honor Joy's life will be held on June 29, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or an animal welfare organization of your choice, honoring Joy's enduring commitment to love for helping people and for animal protection and welfare.
