Mr. John Lewis Pass, 96, of Oakwood, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born on April 17, 1927 in New Holland, GA, he was the son of the late Coleman Christopher and Omie Chastain Pass. He was retired from General Motors. Mr. Pass was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Mr. Pass was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakwood.
While serving in the Army he was deployed to France for a year and stateside for six months. After his retirement from GM, he began his “real career” of being a cow trader. He loved the Lord, his family and his tractor. To say he was a hard worker would be an understatement. He had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help others.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pass was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hunter Pass; sisters, Opal Parker, Ella Pennington and son in law, Jerry Wethington.
Mr. Pass is survived by his daughter and son in law, Paula and Michael Buice of Flowery Branch; daughter, Amy Wethington of Smyrna; sister, Mae Ivester of Gainesville; grandchildren, Blake Buice, Clint Buice, Austin Wethington, Bryan Wethington; great grandchildren, Hunter Buice, Presley Buice, Gracie Buice and a number of other loving relatives.
