Al Holcomb, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 89. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Al was born on October 6, 1933, and has been a resident of Cleveland GA for the past 20 yrs.
Al was a dedicated Christian family man and devoted husband to his wife of 48.5 years, Mary Holcomb. Theirs was a partnership built on unwavering commitment, trust, and shared values. Al and Mary's love for each other was evident to all who knew them, and their bond served as an inspiration to those around them.
In addition to his loving wife, Al is survived by his children, Kathy (Holcomb) Fricker, Vicki Ellis, Melinda Hay, and James Holcomb. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Keith Hyde, Kevin Ragan, Korey Hyde, Stephanie North, Blake Holcomb, Matthew Fricker, and Radley Fricker, and 18 wonderful great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Al's family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Throughout his life, Al made a positive impact on his community and those he encountered. He was known for his warm and welcoming personality, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Al was a trusted friend, a reliable confidant, and a source of strength for many. He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Al had a love for fishing, Golf, Camping, and the Atlanta Braves. He was a member of the Top of Georgia Airstream club since 1981 where he held many positions on the board and made many of his long-time friends. He was also one of the biggest Atlanta Braves fans and if a game was on you would find him watching or listening to it.
A memorial service to celebrate Al's life will be held on June 28, 2023. Visitation will be at 12:00, with the service at 1:00 pm at Barrett Funeral Home located at 118 N. Brook St, Cleveland, GA 30528. Family and friends are invited to gather at 12:00 to honor his memory and share stories of the wonderful times they shared with Al. Though Al may have departed from our physical presence, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing the impact he made on the lives of so many.
