Jeraldine Carpenter Coleman

Jeraldine Carpenter Coleman passed away on June 13, 2023 at the age of 98.  She was born in Springfield, Illinois on April 27, 1925.  In 1943 she graduated from Mulberry High School in Mulberry, Kansas.  Later in life she attended Dekalb Community College. 

She was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Corporation until the end of World War II. She then worked at Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance.

She was married to Edward James Coleman, Jr. on November 18, 1950 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Syracuse, New York. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2008.

Mr. and Mrs. Coleman lived in metro Atlanta since 1960.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her children Anne Lehman (Dean) of Longmont, Colorado, Karen Hirons (Allen) of Marietta, Georgia, Judith McFarland (Clifford) of Acworth, Georgia, Amy Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, The Honorable Edward James Coleman, III (Debbie) of Savannah, Georgia, Jane Smith (Matt) of Decatur, Georgia, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be said on June 16, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  The family will greet friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the narthex of the church. The location of the church is 6439 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch, Georgia.  Burial will be at Broadlawn Memorial Garden, 5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, Georgia.

Donations may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or The Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
