Mr. Harold Richard Rogers, age 83 of W. Currahee Street, Toccoa passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at The Landings of Gainesville.
A son of the late Vaughn and Pearl Barron Rogers, he was born July 18, 1939 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived in Stephens County, Georgia most of his life. He was a graduate of Stephens County High School, class of 1957 and a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. He was employed with Clarkesville Mill for 30 years and later retired from Piedmont College. He was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. He loved his family and loved being outdoors to enjoy hunting, fishing, gardening, cattle farming and sports and loved singing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Truett Rogers, Joe Rogers and Billy Rogers, sister-in-law, Maxine Rogers and brother-in-law, Ferman Gregory.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Linda Thompson Rogers of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Keith Brady of Gainesville, Georgia and Donna and Michael McDaniel of Talmo, Georgia; grandchildren, Dr. Evan Brady, Erin and Josh Bohanan, Blake McDaniel, Whitney McDaniel and Alexa and Mason Williams; great-grandchildren, Reese Bohanan and Michael Thomas McDaniel; brother, Clifford Rogers; two sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Gregory of Eastanollee and Sue and Jim Hunnicutt of Lavonia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen and Ken Ledford of Toccoa and Patsy and Joe Wang of Gainesville; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Walter Singletary and Dr. Evan Brady officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Dr. Evan Brady, Blake McDaniel, Josh Bohanan, Mason Williams, Ken Ledford and Johnny Howard. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers, Curtis Mabry, Bob Glore, Randall Holbrooks, Carnegie Hulsey and Jimmy Howard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Georgia, 41 Perimeter Center E#550, Atlanta, Georgia 30346 in memory of Mr. Harold Richard Rogers.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
