Bobby Richard Collins

Bobby Richard Collins passed away on May 31, 2023. He was born June 6, 1936 to the late Julin Collins and the late Edith Mitchell Collins on June 6, 1936.

He was raised in Fort Payne, Alabama, graduated from Dekalb High School and joined the United States Navy.  While living in California he visited Clayton to see his family and after retirement located to Clayton.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen. He later married Peggy Haslett Hamby Collins. They lived in Clayton until Peggy’s passing.  Bob was involved in many things in Clayton.  He was a member of Wallnut Flats Hunt Club for many years.  He loved fishing the lakes in and around Rabun County.  In his younger years he was an avid tennis player. He is also preceded in death by a son; Jeff Collins and a grandchild; Emma Becker.

Bob is survived by his daughters; Beth Becker (Robert) of Cumming, GA and Gina Chambers of Hiawassee, GA, grandchildren; Hank Chambers, Andy Chambers (Taylor), Emily Becker, Carson Becker, Cole Becker and a great grandchild Kayce Chambers.

The family will have visitation at Beck Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with a service to follow in Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mike Campbell officiating.  Burial will be in the Rabun Memory Park following service.
