Diana Kay (Todd) Smith passed on to her eternal home on June 1, 2023, surrounded by her family, after living and loving on this earth for 72 years.
She was born on July 7, 1950 in Cleveland, AL to the late Jim and Ruth Todd. After graduating from Auburn University, Kay moved to Gainesville, GA where she was a dedicated physical education teacher for 31 years. She met her late husband Douglas Smith at a P.E. convention on Jekyll Island, GA. She outlived Doug by almost 16 years and never re-married, saying Doug was the love of her life and her time on this earth with him was enough for her. Kay was a devoted mother and NaNa to all, and she gave us her love, memories and sweet smile that will forever live in our hearts.
She leaves family members behind who will miss her very much: daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Tommy Conroy; stepson and daughter-in-law, Rich and Amanda Smith; grandchildren: Gavin Conroy, Brooks Conroy, Asher Smith, and Isaiah Smith; twin sister Fay Segars; brother and sister-in law Jim and Lisa Todd; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Jerry Shell; niece, Angie Anderegg (husband Matt); nephew, Todd Segars (wife Suzanne); niece, Kari Broderick (husband Anthony); nephew, Matt Todd (wife Kris); niece, Brandy Echols (husband Perry); nephew, Kevin Stowers (wife Amy); and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
The first visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm at Little-Davenport Funeral Home (355 Dawsonville Hwy Gainesville, GA 30501).
