Tony Sheriff

Tony Sheriff, 76 of Gainesville died Thursday June 1, 2023, at his residence.

Born in Forsyth County, Mr. Sheriff had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He was the son of the late Oren and Thelma Crawford Sheriff.  Mr. Sheriff owned and operated Sheriff Electric Company before retiring.  He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Sheriff is preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Abby Wimpy

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mattie Blackwell Sheriff, Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Misti Sheriff, Clermont, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Brian Wimpy, Decatur, Tennessee, sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Johnny Mangum, Gainesville, grandchildren, Cole Sheriff (Brandy), Seth Thomas (Taylor), Micah Thomas (Hannah), Levi Wimpy and Anna Wimpy, 1 great grandchild, Silas Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Zach Watson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
