Betty King Cole

Betty King Cole, 92, of Buford, GA, died Saturday, May 27, 2023. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Nick Palmer will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dan Cole; parents, Clifford and Adell King. She is survived by her children, Ricky Cole (Sheila) of Buford, Ronnie Cole (Ann) of Flowery Branch, Donna Thornton (Mike) of Buford; grandchildren, Emily Marie Cole, Rodney Dale Cole, Rebecca Hughes (Adam), Lauren Thornton, Cole Thornton, Tommy Clark (Kathy), P.J. Martin (Amanda), Tara Ammons (Brian); great grandchildren, Holden Crews, Casey Cole, Claire Cole, Emma Hughes, Tanner Carpenter, Tatum Carpenter, Christian Clark, Caleb Clark (Emma Kate), Chloe Clark, Brody Ammons, Brantley Ammons. Betty was born in Buford, GA and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Buford High School, Class of 1947. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church Buford and retired from the Gwinnett County Tag Office with over 60 years of service. Betty was lovingly called Memaw by her grandchildren.
