Fannie Lou Anderson was born on May 29, 1931, and passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, approaching her 92nd birthday. Fannie Lou Anderson was born In Buford. She moved to South Georgia & later Atlanta following the drowning deaths of her two sisters, Ruth Faye Garner and Helen Virginia Garner in 1948. She moved back to the Buford Area in 1979 and lived in the area until her death. Fannie Lou loved talking with people, cooking, yard work, and her friends, relatives, children, and grandchildren. She had a talent for growing beautiful flowers and flowering trees and bushes. Her back yard was a wall of Azaleas that are beautiful in bloom. Fannie Lou demanded the best out of everyone. If she thought you weren’t doing something correctly she did not hesitate to let you know. Anyone doing work for her at her home learned fast that they could not cut corners or not do a job perfectly. She had the same high standards for herself. Her home and yard were always immaculate. Fannie Lou worked for the Nabisco Company for 44.5 years. She was very proud of her work and had many close friends there. She did the hard factory work to support her 3 children providing them with everything they needed. Fannie Lou attended Buford High School and was crowned Miss Buford in 1947, the first year the pageant was held. Over the years Buford High School graciously allowed former beauty pageant winners to be part of the ceremony. She enjoyed attending these contests. Fannie Lou was predeceased by her father, Clayton Garner and mother, Alma Gardner, two sisters, Helen and Ruth Gardner, her brother Coleman Gardner, her first husband, Pete Hope and her second husband, Wesley Anderson. Fannie Lou is survived by her three children, Ted Hope (Joyce), Ray Hope, Jenny Hope Roach (Barry), and two grandchildren Shane Hope (Kiley), and Matthew Roach. Visitation and viewing are scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm at Flanigan Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 1PM at Sugar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Steve Walton officiating.
