Edna Jones Lewallen went home to be with her Savior on May 25, 2023. She was born on May 14, 1931 in Gainesville, Georgia. She married Hershal Lewallen of Homer, Georgia in 1946. They were married for 68 years before his death in 2014.
Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband Hershal Lewallen, her parents CB and Willie Mae Jones and her sister Mary Sue Andersen. She is survived by her sister Barbara Jackson, children Cheryl and Doug Forrester, Lynn and Darryl Evans and grandchildren and great grandchildren Scott, Tonya and Carter Forrester, Todd, Lauren, London and Lincoln Forrester, Bryan, Nikki, Evan, Kade and Emily Peebles, Brent, Ashlee, Maggie and Benji Peebles and special friends Denise McGee, Melissa McGee Hendrix, and Kim McGee Pasqualone.
Edna was an active member of Riverbend Baptist Church until her recent decline of health. Her and Hershal enjoyed traveling the U.S. and the Caribbean, but most of all their time spent in Maui, Hawaii each year. Among her favorite past times was the times spent on their house boat on Lake Lanier with special friends and at their condo in Destin, Florida. Edna loved her time volunteering at Lanier Park Hospital over many years. She was never happier than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements made by Memorial Park. A graveside service will held on Wednesday, May 31 at 1:00pm for family and friends at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, GA 30504.
