Mr. Marvin Steve Moore, age 85 of Toccoa passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his residence.
A son of the late Bradford Moore and Jimmie Lou Howe Moore, he was born June 19, 1937 in Franklin County, Georgia, having lived in Marietta and Douglasville before moving to Toccoa in 2009. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired truck driver, having worked with Rayloc “Napa” Trucking for 20 years and later with Hemphill Trucking. He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Rock Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Scott Moore and by his second wife, Jackie Williams Moore.
Survivors include a son, Scott Moore of Toccoa; two grandsons, David Moore of Bowman and Steve Moore of Toccoa; sister, Evelyn Ayers of Vanna; niece, Jan Norton.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 28, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Tony Franks and The Reverend Ken Vandeford officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kenny Harrison, Luke Harrison, Steve Moore, David Moore, Marshall Norton and Jimmy Norton.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
