Pastor Timothy Lee Copeland

Pastor Timothy Lee Copeland, 69, of Buford, GA passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Braselton, GA. 

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18^th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Church of God in Buford, GA.  Prior to that, his viewing will be held the same day from 2:00 – 5:30 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church of Buford.  Burial will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Buford Cemetery in Buford, GA. with Bishop Gilbert Pearson and Bishop Joel Holmes officiating.  Arrangements are by Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA.  Tim was born in Vidor, TX to Garland and Elizabeth Copeland on January 2, 1954.  He attended school in Vidor and immediately after graduation, he began evangelizing full-time.  He traveled as an evangelist for 10 years, and then he met and married Kathy Flanders on June 19^th, 1982 in Beaumont, TX.  After their marriage, they traveled together for 11 more years.  In November of 1993, they accepted the pastorate of Buford First Pentecostal Church.  Tim was the full-time pastor of this church for 26 years, until his illness forced him to retire.  Tim was a member of the Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship.  Tim was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a friend to all.  He was kind, generous, compassionate, hard-working, humorous, and prayerful.  He was an anointed preacher and gifted teacher.  He was loved by all who knew him.  Most of all, he was a child of God.  He will be sorely missed.  Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Elizabeth Copeland.  He is survived by his wife, Kathy Copeland; sons, Timothy Jordan (Chaney) Copeland, and Caleb Garland (Sarah) Copeland.
