William Steven “Steve” Lawson, age 67 passed away in Athens, Georgia on May 8, 2023.
Steve was born on October 12, 1955, to Rev. William J. "Bill" and Betty Lawson in Gainesville GA. After graduating from North Hall High School, he went on to study at Georgia Medical College. He graduated as a Certified Dental Technician.
After College, Steve opened Southern Aspects Dental Lab, which he ran for many years.
Steve’s passion for detail and craftsmanship expressed itself in his career, his hobbies, the way he lived his life, and how he cared for his family. He was a clockmaker, a coin collector, and built his own Log Cabin. He was also an avid Georgia Football fan and a loving family man.
Steve had a deep love of both God and Nature. He felt a persistent call to the Ministry, and his time spent fishing and camping in the Georgia Mountains brought him a great sense of peace.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Terry Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Jay Leonard, Athens; son, Coley Lawson, Athens, granddaughter, Dahlia Leonard; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Carl East, Dahlonega; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Norma Lawson, Peoria, Illinois and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Rev. William J. "Bill" and Betty Lawson; sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Bill Woody.
To commemorate his life, the family will hold a special gathering in the Georgia Mountains at a later date.
