Peggy Jenkins

Peggy Jenkins, 85, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 following a period of declining health.

Born July 4, 1937 in Marietta, GA to the late Clayton and Villa Brown, she had lived in the Dawson and Lumpkin County area since 1977.  A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed as a nursing and physical therapy assistant.  Peggy was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Jenkins; sisters, Melba Harp, Mary Henderson, Fleasha Gomez and Bunzie Simpson.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Ed Jenkins; children, Karen and Mark Duguay, Cleveland, Angel Jenkins, Dahlonega, Joey Jenkins, Dawsonville; sister, Jean Whelch, Marietta; brother, Kenny Brown, Roswell; 8 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Jason Moon will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
