Alfred Michael Church

Mr. Alfred Michael Church, age 76, of Dahlonega, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023.

Mr. Church "Mike" was born October 3, 1946, in Stephens County, GA, to the late Milton Church and Lillie Dell Sims Church, and was raised in Clarkesville, GA. Mike served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Georgia Power Company after 34 years and then spent most of his time riding his motorcycle, fishing, singing karaoke, and playing guitar with friends. Mike attended the Cooper Green Prayer Group. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. 

Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Church. Survivors include sister-in-law Darlena Church of Clarkesville, son Brian Church and daughter-in-law Catherine Church of Cleveland; daughter Angie Church King and fiancé Tim Lanier of Canton; grandchildren Jessica Church Chadwick, Seth Church and wife Hannah, Ethan King, and Brent King; great-grandchildren Avery Chadwick and Parker Church; step-grandchildren Carla and spouse Carl Williams, David and spouse Amber Chambers; step-great-grandchildren Payton, Railyn, Felton and Haylee.

Mike had a special place in his heart for Angie Lindsey, and Genna, a child Mike helped to raise.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Anderson-Underwood Chapel. The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
