James Buddy Thomas

James Buddy Thomas, age 79, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023.

Mr. Thomas was born on January 3, 1944, in Blairsville, Georgia, to the late Boyd and Vonie Garrett Thomas.  He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Duke’s Creek Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Gail Thomas; brothers, Bonnell Thomas, Barney Thomas, Jerry Thomas, and Oneal Thomas; sister, Patsy Welborn.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Thomas; children, Tina Cook (Brian), Terrie Thomas (Jeff), and Scott Thomas (Melissa); grandchildren, Brannon Cook (Tori) and Erin Cook; sisters, Jimmie McGee and Jackie Fain; brother, Sammy Thomas, Herman Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, and Robin Thomas; lots of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Robert Abernathy and Mr. John Howard will officiate.  Interment will follow in Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
