William Ray (Bill) Parker, age 69 of Hoschton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Bill spent his early childhood in Brookhaven, Georgia and later his family moved to the Suwanee/Buford area. He was a 1971 graduate of North Gwinnett High School. After marriage, Bill called Sugar Hill, Jefferson and Hoschton home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lewis Parker, Sr.; Ruby Lurine Parker and his brother Richard Anthony (Dicky) Parker. Bill is survived by his wife of 49+ years, Jackie Hyde Parker, son Michael Jonathan Parker and wife Rebecca (Becca) of Atlanta; daughter Ashley Parker Kinsey and husband Christopher (Chris) John Kinsey and much beloved grandson Parker John Kinsey of Braselton. He is also survived by his brother Charlie Lewis Parker, Jr. and wife Linda Dickerson Parker of Jefferson; his nephew Rusty Parker and wife Genia of Braselton; several great nieces and nephews. Bill was very active in his churches. His favorite activity was singing in the choir, singing solos and duets. He was also an avid coin collector and would often give coins away for special occasions. Travel was a love and occurred frequently as he worked as a travel agent after his retirement. Bill retired with 20 years of service in the U.S. Army. His service was joint Georgia National Guard and active military service. He retired with the rank of Warrant Officer 1. He was proud of his service and that he came up through the enlisted ranks. Visitation will be May 6, 2023, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The Service with be May 7, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Chapel at Flanigan Funeral Home on South Lee Street in Buford, Georgia.
