Dennis Thurman Shedd

Mr. Dennis Thurman Shedd, age 71 of Lakeside Road, Toccoa passed away Saturday, April 28, 2023 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Barrow County.

A son of the late Thurman and Grace Duke Shedd, he was born September 9, 1951 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  He was a 1969 graduate of Stephens County High School, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Vietnam, employed with Bellsouth for a number of years, a member of Tugalo Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Post 4346.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Merle Jones.

Survivors include a number of cousins.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 3 o’clock p.m. at the Tugalo Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Harris Pressley officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. 

Interment will follow in the Tugalo Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
