Jason Dale Barnes, age 43 of Gainesville, GA passed away suddenly on April 23, 2023, the day after his birthday, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where he lived for the last 3 years.
Jason was born in Gainesville, GA on April 22, 1980 to Lisa Justus Clark and Dale Barnes and lived most of his life in Gainesville. He graduated from North Hall High School in 1998 and graduated from University of South Carolina in 2002 with a degree in Sports Management. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He most recently lived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where he was a Manager and English teacher at Apollo English Language School. He loved socializing with his family and friends and many loved him for his compassionate ways and his caring heart. He loved sports, traveling and enjoyed the outdoors and hiking. Jason will be loved, remembered and in our hearts forever.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandfathers LJ Justus and James Barnes, grandmother Imogene Barnes and cousin Derrick Chisolm.
Jason is survived by his mother Lisa Justus Clark, father & stepmother Dale & Leslie Barnes, brother & sister-in-law Casey & Heidi Barnes, niece Laney Barnes, stepsister & brother-in-law Jazmine & Arnoldo Bertoli, grandmother Marie Justus (his Mimi), aunts and uncles Patty & Danny Berry, Clark & Jennifer Justus and Stanley & Nancy Barnes, cousins Jessica & Jeff Rothrock, Patrick & Hannah Chisolm and numerous other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Riverside Funeral Home, 989 Riverside Dr, Gainesville, GA 30501. Reverend Dr. Bill Coates will officiate.
