Mr. Buren Lamar Crunkleton, age 96 of Brookdale Road, Toccoa passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at his residence.
A son of the late Herbert Peyton Crunkleton and Maybelle Segars Crunkleton, he was born December 9, 1926 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He owned and operated the Clipper Barber Shop for 29 years and later owned and operated Mega Motorsports and Crunkleton Real Estate. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Crunkleton, the mother of his children and by siblings, Geneva Westmoreland, Roy Lee Crunkleton, Jenenne Yearwood, Buford Crunkleton and Bethel (Mary) Crunkleton.
Survivors include his wife of the home Patricia Mize Crunkleton; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Alan and April Crunkleton of California; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Alan Hinson of Sandpoint, Idaho; grandchildren, Jacob and Mikayla Hinson and Toni Li Crunkleton; four great-grandchildren, Qeira, Isaac, Ezekiel and Isabella Hinson; sister, Janelle Hart of Toccoa; step daughter, Angie (Vance) McGee of Carnesville; step-grandchildren, Allyson (Bradley) McCollum and Dejanea McGee; brother-in-law, Dwain (Gail) Mize of Toccoa, Bob Westmoreland of Toccoa and Joe (Pat) Banks of Missouri; sisters-in-law, Cookie Sheppard and Teresa (Jerry) Kelly both of Toccoa and Phyllis June Crunkleton of Hartwell; father-in-law, Arvil Mize of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerry Chitwood, The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and The Reverend Alan Hinson officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Travis Terrell, Dylan Simpson, Bob Westmoreland, Shawn Westmoreland, Barry Crunkleton, Brandon Crunkleton, Graylan Crunkleton, Blake Crunkleton, Russell Brock and Bill Bunch. Mega Motorsports Employees will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
