Peggy Ann Wesmoreland Goss "Hollifield"

Peggy Ann Wesmoreland Goss “Hollifield”, age 88 of Sautee-Nacoochee, passed away, Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Born in Franklin, North Carolina on May 19, 1934, Mrs. Goss was the daughter of the late Telford and Beulah “Pete” Holcomb Westmoreland.  Peggy was from an original family of settlers to the Sautee-Nacoochee Valley area.  Many will lovingly know her as “Peggy Hollifield”.  She operated Valley Burger out of Hollifield Grocery which was a Sautee-Nacoochee valley meeting spot and community cornerstone for many years.  She was a member of Nacoochee Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goss is preceded in death by husband Bill Goss, son Benny Goss, infant son James Telford Goss and brother Donald Westmoreland.  Mrs. Goss is survived by daughter Janet Goss Langston of Sautee-Nacoochee.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with interment to follow the service in Nacoochee Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
