Obituary Date: Saturday, April 22, 2023
Nora Bell Jones died on Saturday, April 22, 2023.  A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, Clermont, Ga. Reverend Mike Franklin will officiate the service. Interment will follow the service at Clemons Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mrs. Nora Jones, age 73, of Lula Ga. took her heavenly fight home with her lord and savior. Preceded in death her husband of 39 years Joe Jones, Fiancé John Jones; parents Elmer and Dimie Lomax; brothers Bobby Lomax, Bennie Lomax, sister Ruby Lomax (Hudson) and brother Jip Lomax.       

She is survived by her brother Jimmy Lomax & Pat Lomax (sister-in-law) Bethlehem Ga. & her aunt Dorathy (Coley) Autery of Alto. Son Kenneth Jones & Danyle Jones ( daughter-in-law) Of Lula Son Phillip Payne & Melissa Payne (daughter-in-law) of Lula Son James Jones & Shannon Jones (daughter-in-law) of Lula Daughter Julie Jones & Shawn Walker (son-in-law) of Lula 6 grandkids Katie Jones & Cj Allison of Lula Keri (Jones) Echols & Tim Echols of Lula Kayla Jones & James Cornett of Lula Megan (Jones) Rankin & Kyle Rankin of Indiana  Cassie Head of Lula & Channing Payne of Lula 3 great grandkids Emily Rankin & Sarah Rankin of Indiana & Isabella Echols of Lula. she had many nieces and nephew and cousins whom she loved.

To all of us she was known as Beaver!! She devoted her life to her family. She was kind caring loving understanding as a wife a mother a daughter aunt and a sister. she worked at Peachtree Doors for 15 years then going back to school and getting her degree in accounting and then later she would retire from the banking industry. During that time, she would be President of the Lula American Betterment Association for 2 years she loved working at the community center driving the senior bus. She also worked with Gainesville Park and Rec. for 10 years. The thing she most loved the best was square dancing with the Lakeshore square Dancers. For 23 years she danced and traveled with them.  

I want to say thank you to 2 special people and that’s Carl Gilstrap. thank you for being a kind person to our mother and for looking out for her and being such a great friend for her, next is Peggy Stephens who I want to thank for helping with our mother. that means a lot to us, and my mother was very thankful for everything that you did.  W.R.
