Mr. Charles Leonard Rider, 87, of Flowery Branch, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Waters and Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. The interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, April 24th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 25th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born on April 23, 1935, in Dahlonega, he was the son of the late Charlie Glenn and Emma Brookshire Rider. He retired from Cantrell Machine where he was a service technician. Mr. Rider was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rider was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Mae Harris Rider; son, Charles Rider; brothers, Leon Rider, and Sammy Rider; sisters, Cecile Thompson, Bessie Sullens and Annie Poston.
Mr. Rider is survived by his daughter, Melanie Winkles (Mark) of Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Tabitha Rider of Gainesville; son, Todd Rider of Flowery Branch; brother, Bobby Rider of FL; daughter-in-law, Debbie Rider of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Emma Rider, Justin Smith, Chris Rider, Crystal Laborde, Wesley Rider (Kady), Jessica Simmons (Chris), Kristen Cornett (Matt), Jay Winkles; great-grandchildren, Zoe Smith, Kinslee Smith, Hailey Stevens (Tyler), Andrew Laborde, Kylie Steadman, Jayla Winkles, Kassidy Cornett, Sawyer Cornett, Holden Cornett, Journey Cornett, Trinity Winkles, Cathrynn Rider, Calliope Rider, Tavarus Dowdy, Skyler Dowdy and a number of other loving relatives.
