Betty Jo (Locke) Miller

Mrs. Betty Jo (Locke) Miller, age 73, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at her residence.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 24, 2023 at the funeral home. Reverend Bobby Griffin will officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller was born, February 1, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Lou Nelle (Whitmire) Locke. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Simmie Miller, Jr. and also her brothers, Danny Locke and Melvin Locke and son-in-law, Larry Smith.

Betty was retired from the Gainesville City School System. She was also a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church.

Betty is survived by her children, Tammy Smith, Cindy Humphries, and Michelle Carter, grandchildren, Justin Smith, Cody Smith and Jesse Allen Carter, Jr.; nephews, Steven Locke and Adam Locke; cousins, Becky, Judy, Junior, and Jody; and her close companion pet, Bella.
