Rebecca O. Chapman

Rebecca O. Chapman     11/14/1956 – 04/10/2023

On April 10th, Rebecca O. (Becky) Chapman, a resident of Buford, GA, beloved wife, mother, NeNe, and friend, passed away at the age of 66 after a long battle with cancer. Becky was born at University Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She grew up in Decatur, Ga and was a 1975 graduate of Druid Hills High School. She attended Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Al where she and Terry Chapman met. They married in 1979 and a few months later, embarked on a great adventure as Terry served in the US Army and Becky served as an Army wife. Becky is a Gwinnett County Public Schools retiree where she is much respected and loved. 

Becky was predeceased by her parents, Dr Frank C. Owens and Ruth Lanich Owens and her brother, Mike Owens. She is survived by her husband, Terry Chapman, her children, Patrick (Andrea) Chapman and Denise (Paul) Filush, Grandchildren, Aria Filush and Graham Chapman and her brother, Ben (Lavada) Owens.

Becky loved to travel. She has a very special group of friends who call themselves TWA (Travelers With Attitude). These ladies are the best friends anyone could ever have. The ladies of TWA made sure Becky continued her travels until her last days.

Becky unconditionally loves her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren love their NeNe and will carry her memory with them forever.

A celebration of Becky’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
